Desktop Control Center (Windows)

The Desktop Control Center is the main way to manage vrOS from your PC.

Open It

  • Right-click the vrOS Director tray icon → Open Desktop
  • Or double-click the tray icon

If the Desktop window is already running, vrOS will restore and focus it. If it isn’t running, vrOS will spawn vros-catnet-desktop.exe.

Common Tasks

Manage Overlays

Use the Overlays tab to:

  • Start/stop overlays
  • Show/hide overlays
  • Adjust overlay properties (size, opacity, pinned, passthrough, tracking anchor)

Manage Extensions

Use the Extensions tab to:

  • Confirm extensions were discovered
  • Open extension-provided tabs (WebView UI)
  • Start/stop extension services (if provided)

Service Health

Use the Service tab to:

  • See which services are running
  • Request a graceful stop/restart for a service

Tip: If You Just Want It Back

If the Desktop is minimized or behind other windows, double-clicking the tray icon is usually the fastest way to restore it.
