Installation Guide
Welcome to catnet VR OS! This guide will help you get started with installing and setting up the VR overlay system.
System Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- VR: SteamVR-compatible headset
- GPU: DirectX 12 compatible graphics card
- RAM: 8GB minimum
- Storage: 500MB free space
Recommended Requirements
- OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
- VR: Meta Quest 2/3, Valve Index, or HTC Vive Pro
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 or AMD RX 6600 or better
- RAM: 16GB or more
- Storage: 1GB free space on SSD
Installation Steps
1. Download catnet VR OS
- Visit vros.cat (coming soon)
- Click "Download" to get the latest installer
- Save the installer to your Downloads folder
2. Install Prerequisites
Before installing catnet VR OS, ensure you have:
- SteamVR installed and configured
- Visual C++ Redistributables (included in installer)
- DirectX 12 runtime (included in Windows)
3. Run the Installer
- Double-click
catnet-vros-installer.exe - Follow the installation wizard:
- Accept the license agreement
- Choose installation directory (default:
C:\Program Files\catnet) - Select components to install
- Click "Install" and wait for completion
4. Initial Setup
After installation:
- Launch SteamVR
- Start catnet VR OS from:
- Start Menu → catnet VR OS
- Or SteamVR overlay menu
- Complete the first-run setup wizard
Verification
To verify your installation:
- Put on your VR headset
- Press the dashboard button on your controller
- Look for the catnet icon in the SteamVR dashboard
- Click to open the catnet dashboard
Troubleshooting
catnet doesn't appear in SteamVR
- Restart SteamVR
- Check Windows Defender/antivirus exceptions
- Run as administrator
Performance issues
- Update graphics drivers
- Close unnecessary background applications
- Check VR performance settings in SteamVR
